CUPE school participants raise funds for Women's Shelter

RED DEER -- CUPE Education Representative Ed Hanson presented a donation in the amount of $1,100.50 to the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter on behalf of members of the CUPE members who attended the 34th Annual CUPE Alberta Weeklong School May 16 – 21, 2010.

The donation was raised as follows:

  • $680.50 from a 50/50 draw
  • $300.00 from a Texas Hold’em tournament 50/50 pot
  • $120.00 donated by the participants of the Financial Officers workshop in lieu of a gift for the facilitator of the course.

Brother Hanson sends out a huge thank you to the CUPE members who contributed to the total donation.
