CUPE Calgary Blood Drive

November 16 - 28, 2009

Calling all CUPE Members!

Did you know that one in every two Canadians will either need blood or know someone who will?

To ensure blood is available for people who need it, CUPE Calgary District Council is spearheading a two-week blood drive. We want to collect at least 75 donations – enough to save up to 150 lives.

We need YOU to donate on behalf of CUPE.
Here’s how you can get involved:

1.    Call 1 888 2 DONATE to find a clinic near you and to book an appointment to donate. Donors are needed at the permanent clinic (737 – 13 Ave SW Calgary), open Monday – Saturday. Hours vary, and appointments are recommended. Call for clinic hours and to book your appointment. You can also visit www.blood.ca for clinic information and to learn about giving blood.

2.    When you donate, ask to sign the CUPE binder so your donation counts towards our goal.

3.    Do you have a group of three or more co-workers, family or friends who want to donate together? Call 403-410-2722 to book a free Life Bus shuttle to the permanent blood donor clinic in Calgary (two weeks notice needed).
